Golden Globe statuette awarded to Ann Sothern for the year 1958 for "The Ann
Sothern Show" her second successful series for which she also produced as
well as starred in. Nominated for many Emmy Awards and one Academy Award this
is the only major award won by the talented Ms. Sothern in a career that
spanned 7 decades. The award plaque reads that she was being honored for BEST
PERFORMANCE by an actress. There were only six TV awards given in 1958 by the
HFPA and the other winners included Ed Sullivan, Red Skelton and Loretta
Young. Comes with a COA from actress Tisha Stirling, Ms. Sothern's daughter.
The award is in near mint condition. |

Helen Hunt's wool coat and dress from the final scenes of "As Good As It
Gets" for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.
The light dress, almost a nightgown, is worn in the sequence where Jack
Nicholson, as Melvin, races to Carol's house in the near morning hours to tell
her she "is the greatest woman alive" and ends as they enter the bakery
behind the closing credits. Comes with two color trade ads for "Best Actress"
showing her wearing the costume.

J.M. Wall Sound on Film Fox Movietone Camera complete with Mitchell head and tripod. This camera was the darling of all the newsreel concerns since it recorded sound optically on the film simultaneously to exposing the image. Heavy and sturdy with a built in DC motor they were used up into the sixties when the phrase "film at 11" meant just that. This is an early circa 1930 model based on it's tapered case. |
