A pair of giltwood pedestals from RKO used in "TOP HAT" (1935) where they are flanking the double doors to the bedroom in the bridal suite(one is painted white and used in "SHALL WE DANCE"; the pair used in "FIFTH AVENUE GIRL", "THE FALCON IN SAN FRANCISCO" and "FALLEN SPARROW"), and later seen in three scenes of "CITIZEN KANE"(1941); first in the KANE Music room, on each side of the fireplace during Susan's singing lesson, and later in the Great Hall of Xanadu at the end. One of them is beside the large marble statue in the "art grouping" while the other is next to the large trophy from the Employees of the Inquirer and later seen in the overview as the camera "flies" over the massed crates to the furnace and ROSEBUD.
They also saw use when RKO became DESILU and then PARAMOUNT and produced "STAR TREK" and can be seen in multiple scenes of "REQUIEM FOR METHUSELAH" (1969 Ep. 3.19), in 'Flint's' quarters and in many "BONANZA" episodes ("THE BIG JACKPOT" Ep. 349 Jan 18, 1970; "IS THERE ANY MAN HERE?" Ep. 352 Feb. 8, 1970) where they decorate the new fancy suite at the Palace Hotel in Virginia City.
They are four feet tall, one foot at the base, and marked with RKO inventory numbers dated 1935.
Please note Welles face, in the lower right corner of the second image, resting between shots. Also, ROSEBUD being placed in the lower grouping is an inside joke.
