Matte paintings from The Golden Age including the hospital mural from Selznick's "SINCE YOU WENT AWAY" 1944, where Jennifer Jones takes her nursing oath, the prison from "THE PARRADINE CASE" 1946, where Gregory Peck meets the accused, the cliff dwellings from the prologue and trailer of "MR. BLANDINGS BUILDS HIS DREAMHOUSE" 1948 and 'Manderlay', the manor house, on fire from "REBECCA" 1940.

The grouping also included sets of paintings from "GARDEN OF ALLAH", "DUEL IN THE SUN", "PORTRAIT OF JENNIE" (AA Winner) and single ones such as the snowy street scene from "SPELLBOUND" and the Atlanta house from "GONE WITH THE WIND", all since sold.

This large lot of original boards average 3' X 5' and were used to create visual special effects by combining live action with a projected image on the painting. They were found together and seem to represent the work of Jack Cosgrove during his years at Selznick Inernational and RKO. Some are marked VANGUARD which was the distribution company co-owned by Selznick and RKO.
