Veronica Lake beaded gown from "I WANTED WINGS" PAR 1941. Magnificent and elaborate plunging neckline crystal beaded, floor length gown worn by the 1940s siren in her first starring role and the film that launched her short but bright career. Designed by Edith Head and embodies the fact they don't do glamour like this anymore. Paramount printed label and multiple stills, fashion layout prints, magazines she wore it in and an original oversized exhibitor's manual for the film. Does another pre-war beaded, floor length Edith Head gown exist? Or any equal Lake piece? A serious investment. |
