Jean Harlow Bookends MGM 1935. These art deco figurines have a very fine likeness of Jean as she appeared in "CHINA SEAS" with Clark Gable. Such promotional pieces from the Studios have cropped up as either gifts to executives or as prizes in theater contests to promote the films. Some are shown in the Exhibitors Manuals sent to theater owners and have included a treasure chest pen and pencil set from "Mutiny on the Bounty", cowboy holster set marked John Wayne, clocks and other figuines. This piece has also been seen as a single stand alone paper weight and as a lamp. |
