Seen in the bedroom scenes of "I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE" next to the possessed woman's bed. It is also in "TOAST OF NEW YORK" (in Frances Farmer's parlor with Cary Grant), "BEDLAM" (in 'Lord Mortimer's' salon), "A WOMAN REBELS" (in the ballroom during the dance), "STEP BY STEP" (in the murdered man's office) and, we expect, others. In "CITIZEN KANE" it is in Xanadu's Great Hall seen to good effect as the reporters gather to discuss 'Rosebud' at the end. As Alland and Stewart descend the staircase, a workman picks it up and carries it across the screen from right to left on his shoulder. A bit later it is seen standing near the most valuable grouping of art and furniture, where a then unknown Alan Ladd is standing. It stands 63 inches tall and is 28 inches wide at the base.It has inventory markings from RKO and is dated 1935. |
