Roy Rogers Nudies made shirt and pants from his 1950's TV Show and pictured on the cover of four of his comic books. The shirt is a Scottish plaid design, the fabric from which was brought back from Scotland by Roy himself, which he gave to his tailor Nudie Cohn, to make into his western garb. It bears the famous Nudie's "boob label" and another with Roy's name. This shirt has the drawstring tie as some were also made with pearl snaps. The cuffs do have pearl snaps, as do Roy's trademark sawtooth front pockets. The pants are striped and trimmed with outside seam bands and have their own Nudies label with name, size and number. These are also identical to the pants he wore in "SON OF PALEFACE" PAR. 1952 where he and Trigger co-starred with Bob Hope and Jane Russell.
Roy seems to have liked this combination, as this outfit can be seen worn by him on the show, on album covers and comic books. The one in the Cowboy Hall Of Fame, in OK, is identical. The images of Roy holding the shirt are from a televised interview he did talking about finding the material and why he wore such bright, flowery shirts in those days.
Truly museum quality.
Yea Roy!
