A large bronze plaque, measuring 12 inches in width not including the framing tabs, showing a bas-relief bust of a young Mary Pickford.
This piece is quite similar to Lot # 679 from The Pickford/Fairbanks Estate Sale held March 13-15, 1981, which is described as "the portrait, in a reserved circle, a profile of Mary Pickford in her early 20s..in a black wooden frame. 11 3/4 x 11 3/4."
The drilled tabs is what supports the heavy piece to the frame. No frame present. It is the same image of herself that she used as the logo of her short lived cosmetics company, launched in 1937, as seen on the silver compact.
