Two 1873 Colt Peacemaker guns, rented from Stembridge Gun Rentals, then housed on the Paramount lot, and used by the two stars of the long running show. Both guns are antique, generation one, pre-1898, Colt Single Action pistols. They are real weapons and are in firing condition. Paperwork, from Stembridge and Al Frisch, has recorded the guns by serial number and character use. Colt archives has confirmed, that although the Little Joe gun is now plated (as it appears in the later seasons of BONANZA), it was originally blue. Both guns are as made with all numbers matching. |
