Douglas Fairbanks as ROBIN HOOD

A small plaster figurine of Douglas Fairbanks in one his most famous roles - "ROBIN HOOD" (UA 1922) inscribed "Remember Robin Hood." Signed and made by Virginia Blair, great Grand-daughter of Brigham Young, who went to Hollywood in 1918 to be an actress and spent the next 37 years there trying to achieve that goal. She had some success early on appearing in several Theda Bara films and wrote in her diary (University of Utah: Special Collections) of working with Wallace Berry, who brought her an apple every day, which may have occurred during the making of ROBIN HOOD. Her writings also include poems and forlorn thoughts about these stars at the time of their deaths, which may date this piece to Fairbanks passing in 1939.
