A prop bust of 'Siva,' (a miniature of the giant head seen floating during the studio flood scene) given to actress Diane Shalet for her work in the Sam Spiegel/Elia Kazan production, based on F. Scott's Fitzgerald's unfinished novel inspired by the life of Irving Thalberg. It boasts a once in a generation cast, led by Robert DeNiro, Jack Nicholson, Robert Mitchum, Tony Curtis, Ray Milland, Donald Pleasence, Dana Andrews and Jeanne Moreau. Ms. Shalet, widow of actor Michael Strong, played the title character's (DeNiro) secretary. |
