A 19th Century, giltwood and painted carved piano bench, used in early PATHE and RKO films with their fantastic Baroque style grand piano [PARAMOUNT SALE Christie's Dec. 1989 Lot # 179] in many films, including "SIN TAKES A HOLIDAY" (1931) "THE MAGNIFICENT FRAUD" (1939) and "SUNSET BLVD" (PAR.) 1950. It was later used in "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES," in Granny's bedroom, as a window bench, in the episode "Doctor, CURE my frog!" (Season 9, Episode 6. 10/70). Measures 42 in. wide x 24 in. tall. |
