Emmy Award to "Chicago Morning Show" for the year 1964 hosted by the legendary Jim Conway.
Unusual black marble based small Emmy statuette, cast dated 1959, and similar to Class 2 Academy Awards made by the same company.
Conway, a member of the Broadcasting Hall of Fame, has a long and stellar
career in Chicago Television. Here he is honored for his erudite WBBK-TV
morning show he hosted live where he ventured from the normal entertainment
venue ( his 1965 show featuring Sonny and Cher is in the BHOF) and reported
important stories including airing one of the first interviews with convicted
mass murderer Richard Speck. The Award is 6" tall and 5" long. Also included is the actual 35 mm color on-air slide showing the award for promotional purposes, draped in red.
